Ivory Coast: employers note a rebound in companies in 2021

The president of the General Confederation of Businesses of Côte d’Ivoire (Cgeci) Jean Marie Ackah announces, in his New Year’s speech, that the Ivorian economy is in full recovery with the reopening of almost all sectors of activity.

Also taking stock of employers ‘activities in 2021, he indicates that the efforts of the member companies of the confederation have enabled the improvement of the governance of organizations, the positioning of its members at the heart of employers’ action, the improvement of its notoriety, as well as the consolidation of its image nationally and internationally.

“This is the place, for me, to congratulate the business leaders who have been able to move forward, overcoming other large-scale shocks. Indeed, while the pandemic and its effects had not dissipated, companies had to face an energy crisis of nearly three months, practically with the means on board, inducing additional costs in a context where no system state support had not been considered, ”said Jean Marie Ackah in his speech on December 31, 2021.

Satisfied with the “innovative and strategic” State-Private Sector dialogue, the CEO of Cgeci is pleased that this dialogue has led to the organization of a government seminar dedicated to the private sector. “The working groups created at the end of this seminar made it possible to continue discussions on all subjects of common interest. On the national day of partnership, the government granted one of our main requests, by announcing measures to create and support the emergence of national champions ”.
