Ivory Coast, miraculously qualified in 8th, eliminated Senegal on Monday in Yamoussoukro (1-1, 5 tab to 4) to go to the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations, where it will face the winner of the match between Mali and Burkina Faso.

Franck Kessié converted the decisive shot on goal, while the third Senegalese shooter, defender Moussa Niakhaté, had missed his. Kessié had already equalized from the penalty spot (86th) while Senegal quickly opened the scoring through Habib Diallo (4th).
