Jack Dorsey regrets being the creator of the centralized internet

Jack Dorsey is the founder of Twitter, who until 2021 was most often asked to add an “edit” button to tweets. He left the company last November to focus on his other project, financial company Block.

In a new tweet, he called himself guilty of creating a centralized Internet and admitted that before the arrival of corporations, the network was better.

The days of usenet, irc, the web, and even PGP-encrypted emails were great. The centralization of discoveries and identities in corporations has really harmed the Internet.

I understand that I am partly to blame, and I regret it.

Now part of the Internet is trying to move to Web3 – decentralized sites, metaverses and self-government. Most of this runs on blockchains maintained by users and developers themselves.

Thus, the Internet should become freer, but Dorsey himself has already noted that investors control Web3.
