Catherine Wilson sued Idham Masse for divorce at the Depok Religious Court, West Java. The reason you want to separate is because you are not strong enough to have a long-distance domestic relationship or LDR.
This was stated by the attorney Catherine WilsonDody Hariyanto at the Depok Religious Court, West Java, Wednesday (10/1/2024).
It is known that since their marriage in October 2022, the two of them have rarely lived under the same roof. Not without reason, Catherine Wilson works as an artist in Jakarta, while Idham Masse in South Sulawesi is a member of the legislature there.
“Well, the first question is that the reason for filing the lawsuit is because their lives are separate. Catherine is in Jakarta, her husband is a legislator in Sulawesi, a member of the council, so maybe each of them has their own busy lives,” said Dody Hariyanto.
“Finally they agreed, Catherine returned to her parents’ house in Depok and Mr. Idham was still in Sulawesi,” he continued.
Regarding household disputes, Dody did not deny that. Catherine Wilson and Idham Masse also experienced this in their household.
“So there was no fight, so Mrs. Catherine’s lawsuit was purely about wanting an amicable divorce,” he explained.
The two of them have been separated for about a year now.
“If it’s called quarrels in the household, of course this is clear, by not being in the same house and having separate beds, and separate houses, and not living under the same roof, it is certain that they no longer have harmony,” said Dody.
“It’s been almost a year since we separated (from the house),” he continued.
Catherine Wilson and Idham Masse’s divorce trial will resume on January 24 2024. Both of them are required to attend this trial.
The reason the trial was postponed for two weeks was because of Idham Masse’s position, who is currently in Sulawesi. It is hoped that within two weeks, Idham Masse will be able to attend the trial according to the date set.
“Because the defendant is located in South Sulawesi, the delivery time is quite long and far outside Java, the requirements are impossible. If you are worried, it will take 1 week before the summons will be received from the defendant,” explained Dody.
Catherine Wilson filed a divorce lawsuit at the Depok Religious Court, West Java on December 24 2023. Previously, Idham Masse had filed a divorce petition at the South Jakarta Religious Court but failed.
