Shericka Jackson is on course for a double in the women’s sprint at the Jamaican trials on Saturday, qualifying for the 200m final following winning her heat in 22.88. A day following causing a stir at the National Stadium with a personal best and world best performance of the year of 10.65 to win the 100m with the fifth-fastest time ever, Jackson clinched her 200m streak, under a wind of -1.4m/s, thereby qualifying for Sunday’s final.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had the best performance of the tour by winning her semi-final race with an impressive time of 22.39 (0.7 m/s), following having refrained from running the 100m because she has an invitation to the Budapest Worlds in August. After failing in the first round of the 100m on Thursday, Yohan Blake secured his place in the men’s 200m final by winning his semi-final in 20”35 (0.6 m/s). Defending champion Andrew Hudson also qualified following dominating his semi-final in 20.31, while Rasheed Dwyer set the fastest time of the heat in 20.25 (0.4 m/s).
