James Ellroy’s novel “General Panic”: Think black, paint black – culture

One thing you certainly can’t assume regarding James Ellroy is cheerfulness and optimism. The US author is not to be had for a happy ending. In this respect, his latest novel reads General panic once once more as if Lucifer had outsourced certain services of his organization to Los Angeles, the Californian metropolis of sin cynically named the City of Angels, due to the chronic overbooking of Hell.
