The 34-year-old leader, crowned best player in the league in 2018 and top scorer in 2018, 2019 and 2020, had been in conflict for several months with his Philadelphia club, which he wanted to leave.

According to sports media ESPN, he will be accompanied in California by interior players PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev. In exchange, the Clippers sent French veteran Nicolas Batum, wingers Marcus Morris and Kenyon Martin Jr, as well as interior Robert Covington to Pennsylvania. They also leave Philadelphia with several draft picks, the annual scholarship for young players.

At the Clippers, Harden will notably find Russell Westbrook, with whom he already played at the start of his career at the Oklahoma City Thunder then at the Houston Rockets.

After Oklahoma City, Houston, Brooklyn and Philadelphia, the Clippers will be the fifth club of Harden’s career.
