Javier Aguirre, Mallorca’s Mexican coach, considered the away draw against UD Las Palmas (1-1) “fair” at the Gran Canaria Stadium, acknowledging that the rival beat them in the first half, to react later after Rest.

The Mexican coach made two changes that were decisive for the start of the second period, with the entry of center-back Raillo and the recent signing Sergi Darder, with whom he was looking for “experience in the face of adversity”, and precisely both starred in the equalizer, with header from the defense in a corner kick from his teammate.

“In the first half the rival had the ball, we had two sticks, we missed a penalty, we didn’t score a goal, we were losing, and we needed players who weren’t scared by the situation, the atmosphere… and they complied,” he explained in Press room.

The Aztec coach stressed that the second half belonged to Mallorca, especially with the entry of Darder, a player “who understands the game, doesn’t burn the ball, knows how to team up, and with four things they go forward. He got on the bus and we gave him a shirt, ”he said, referring to his hasty debut.

With the arrival of the footballer from Espanyol, Aguirre believes that they have the full squad, unless “some surprise” arises in the form of loss, because a club takes one of their players, “you always have that fear that someone will leave ”, as already happened to him in his day at Leganés “and I had no reaction time”.

Regarding the tactical change, going on to play with four defenders in the second half, he pointed out that he loves “the line of five” and with that way of playing they got 50 points last season, “but there is nothing rigid, we have many possibilities , and we must not forget that the objective is permanence”.
