La Liga president Javier Tebas says he wants Argentine legend Lionel Messi to end his career at Barcelona. Javier shared this while speaking at a sports event in Buenos Aires. He was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

“Messi will not end his career in La Liga. Because he and Barca are not ready for it. I wish Messi was out of contract at Barca. “It will be a great experience for him, me and Barcelona,” Javier said.

Javier also spoke about Messi’s decision to join MLS club Inter Miami. Javier said Messi has to consider his family and it would be a sad thing for everyone if he doesn’t return to the Spanish club at the end of his career.

‘Leo has a family. He needs to consider them too. He decided to join the MLS for a few years for new experiences. I want him to come back to the Spanish club. Never go to PSG. If not, it will be sad for Messi and for Spanish football,’ said Javier.

Meanwhile, Argentina faced Ecuador in a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup. The match was one-sided with Argentina winning the match. Messi’s stunning free kick led Argentina to victory.
