In this new issue of “Orages de la vie”, Christophe Dechavanne found Jeff Panacloc and Jean-Marc, his orange monkey. The irreverent duo has been making audiences laugh for almost 15 years. Christophe spent time with the ventriloquist and his puppet in Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes, a town outside Paris.
According to Brice Davoli, composer and friend, Jeff Panacloc leaves no small detail. This desire to control everything has had serious consequences. “We could do 4 to 5 shows per week“, confides the ventriloquist.
Jeff confided that he had suffered from burnout in 2022 after having performed a series of shows and television shows. “That evening there were a few small technical problems and I think it was a whole. He was coming to the end of a period which had been complicated for him“, explains Dominique Mattei, composer and friend. Jeff Panacloc broke down on stage, but he tried to finish his show despite everything. The ventriloquist collapsed in his dressing room. He had to be hospitalized. The artist canceled a series of dates because the pain was too deep.”I felt it coming. And I knew that this show was one show too many but I couldn’t tell my team I’m going to stop, people sometimes book a year in advance, these are big evenings“, he specifies, adding that today, “everything is fine“.
