At the end of the Hearing, Judge Reinere Jaramillo announced the decisions and new orders issued by the JEP within the framework of precautionary measures and guaranteeing the right to search for the victims of the Eje Cafetero and Magdalena Medio

To the mayors of the municipalities where the 36 cemeteries protected with precautionary measures are located, the JEP ordered to build or create places that allow the conservation, care and custody of unidentified and unclaimed bodies.

“These places must be built as sanctuaries of memory, for which there must be support from the petitioning organizations and the local victim committees, within a period of six months,” announced Judge Jaramillo.

Finally, the Section ordered the governors and mayors linked to the precautionary measures to include in their connections with the new leaders the specific information of the obligations adopted in this precautionary measure for each territorial entity.

During the JEP hearings at Uniquindío, the need for a departmental morgue was emphasized

Juan Carlos Medina, director of the Western Regional of Legal Medicine Colombia, pointed out that it is necessary to know the budgets arranged by the departments of Caldas, Quindío and Valle del Cauca to meet needs such as vehicles to transport bodies, ossuary infrastructure and the morgue in Armenia.
