The Special Peace Jurisdiction (SPJ) Recognition Room cited for the third time a piety cordobaelected senator of the Historical Pact, to testify under oath in the case of Alvaro Gomez Hurtado.
This Thursday it was learned that the new hearing was set for next July 18 at 8:30 in the morning at the headquarters of the special court in Bogotá. This is the second try to develop one of the proceedings in the investigation that seeks to clarify the murder of the conservative leader Alvaro Gomez Hurtado.
The diligence, initially, was scheduled for March 24. But the parties asked to postpone it until following the presidential elections. For this reason, the JEP rescheduled the appointment for June 21.
On the second try, the senator-elect he alleged discomfort in his health and canceled his intervention before the court of peace. This situation caused discomfort in the representative of the murdered politician’s family.
“I am in the JEP and once once more the testimony hearing of Piedad Córdoba is frustrated. She is in good health and with time to invent stories regarding the alleged participation of the Farc in the death of Álvaro Gómez Hurtado. But he never has time or health to clear up his false references.”, pointed out Enrique Gómez, nephew of the conservative politician assassinated on November 2, 1995.
After the statements of Gómez, also a former presidential candidate for National Salvation, it was learned that Córdoba was admitted to the Country clinic (Bogotá) for symptoms of covid-19.
The third hearing attempt will be chaired by Judge Farid Benavides and the statements will be public.
