‘Iron Man’ left no doubt in the rematch and finished the Argentine in 10 rounds at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California

This time Charlo didn’t wait until the cards and took it upon himself to finish a’El Boxi‘ with the power of his fists in the tenth round after sending the Argentine to the canvas twice, the second definitively, to snatch the World Boxing Organization belt from him and add it to his World Council, World Association titles and International Boxing Federation.
Chestnut started the fight by letting go of his fists and punished the face of Charlowho tried to use his advantage in reach to keep his distance from the South American, but ‘El Boxi‘ continued to lead to complicate the fight for the now unified champion.
However, as the fight progressed it was Charlo who took over the ring and began to connect better blows to dominate the last rounds before connecting with power to Chestnut to send him to the canvas in the tenth round, the Argentine bravely got up from the canvas but had no answer to the attacks of ‘Iron Man‘ marking the end of the fight.
With this victory, Charlo improved his record to 35-1-1 with 19 knock outyes while Chestnut suffered the first loss of his career to stay at 17-1-2 with 12 chloroforms.
In the first preliminaries, the Cuban Geovany Bruzón knocked out the Mexican Daniel Nájera in a full weight fight; also in Heavyweight, Gurgen Hovhannisyan knocked out Jesse Bryan in a match between Americans; in a fight between Californians debuting in full weight, Luciano Sánchez finished Adrián Silva on the fast track; in Welterweight, the local José Mejía knocked out Matthew Reed in the first round; while in Light Weight Anthony Cuba was placed at 4-0-1, striking down Óscar Acevedo (7-1) in the second, who said goodbye to his unbeaten record.
Also in the preliminaries, José Pérez defeated Anthony Chávez by unanimous decision in a Super Featherweight match; The Filipino Marlon Tapales had no problem beating the Mexican José Estrella in featherweight in two rounds; in light weight, Jerry Pérez finished Nicaraguan Erick Lanzas Jr. in fifth place; and in Middleweight, Brandyn Lynch defeated Marcos Hernández by unanimous decision.
On the televised card, the Mexican Kevin González maintained his undefeated victory by unanimous decision with cards 96-64, 97-93 and 98-92 over Puerto Rican veteran Emanuel Rivera Nieves in Super Bantamweight; and in the co-main event, Jaron Ennis extended his undefeated record to 29-0, with 27 knock outs, finishing Custio Clayton (19-1-1) in the second round with a powerful right hand to the Canadian’s head, who did not beat the referee’s count and suffered the first loss of his career.

“Clayton had his guard up as I tried to penetrate his defenses with my right hook. He ducked and I caught him right. I thought he was going to get up since he’s a tough guy and no one had knocked him out before, but I I realized it was over when it fell again.”
