Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi posted a video clip, on his official Twitter account, of him practicing jiu-jitsu on the International Space Station.

Sultan Al Neyadi, who expressed his love for the sport of jiu-jitsu, which he has been keen to practice for years, confirmed that this sport helped him greatly in preparing for his mission in space.

The discipline, focus, and adaptability I gained from jujitsu, he said, “are invaluable to me on the International Space Station. Even in microgravity, the movements and poses I learned on Earth serve me well here.”

And it was a live broadcast by the US Space Agency “NASA”, on the “YouTube” platform, documenting the exit of the Emirati astronaut from the pressure equation on the International Space Station, thus becoming the first Arab to walk in space.

More than a month ago, Sultan Al Neyadi, as part of the “Crow-6” team, launched a scientific mission to the International Space Station.

Al-Neyadi is engaged in the longest scientific mission for the Arabs in space, which will last for six continuous months at the space station. He will participate in scientific experiments in 10 vital areas throughout the duration of the mission.
