The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, paid tribute, this Tuesday morning, 4th, in Luanda, to the figure of the former Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, laying a wreath of flowers in the tomb where his body rests, in the Republic square.
In the act, as part of the celebrations of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, which is celebrated today, the National Anthem was sung, followed by a minute of silence in memory of former president José Eduardo dos Santos (Architect of Peace), who died in August of last year, suffering from illness, in the Kingdom of Spain.
At the ceremony, João Lourenço was accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço. Also present were the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, among other members of the Executive.
