Sources told ESPN that Porter, brother of champion Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr., is under the league’s microscope for the Jan. 26 and March 20 games.
In the first instance, on Jan. 26 against the Clippers, the bookies gave Porter’s over/under at 5.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.5 three-pointers. Then, Porter averaged 4.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.7 three-pointers per game.

Before the game, there was increased betting interest in the under for Porter who played four minutes before leaving because, according to the team, he suffered a recurrence of an eye injury from Jan. 22.
Porter’s numbers in the Jan. 26 game were zero points, three rebounds and one assist, putting him under in all categories. DraftKings reported the next day that Porter’s 3-point under bet was the most popular with the public that night among all NBA bets.
In the March 20 game against the Sacramento Kings, Porter left again, this time after just three minutes, due to an illness, as reported by the team.
Porter’s totals were set at 7.5 points and 5.5 rebounds. He had one missed shot and two rebounds.
Once again, DraftKings’ next-day report indicated that players who bet Porter’s “under” were the biggest winners that night.
Porter’s contract with Toronto this season pays him $415,000.
In 26 games this season, the 24-year-old Porter is averaging 4.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 14 minutes.
