Jodie Burrage: British number two beaten by Jelena Ostapenko at Linz Open

British number two Jodie Burrage has been knocked out of the Linz Open following losing to Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia in the quarter-finals.

Top seed Ostapenko won 6-1 6-2 to progress to the last four in Austria.

Burrage, 24, had beaten Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian in the previous round to reach the last eight of a WTA 500 event for the first time.

But she struggled following picking up an injury early on once morest Ostapenko, who won in one hour and 10 minutes.
