President Prabowo Subianto welcomed former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to a delicious evening meal at his residence in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Friday, 6 Decembre 2024. This gathering was a result of an informal invitation extended by Prabowo upon learning that Jokowi was in Jakarta.
“Yes, I was informed that Pak Jokowi was in Jakarta, so I invited him to dinner,” shared Prabowo, highlighting the casual nature of the arrangement. “I had already visited his home in Solo. This time, I was inviting him here to Kertanegara.”
The evening saw a friendly exchange, culminating in a satisfying meal.
“So we ate, dinner, sir,” Prabowo stated simplily.

Jokowi explained that securing a dinner date with Prabowo was driven by the desire to simply catch up and share their familiar friendship.
“He was President when he stopped by Merauke. Then, he came to Solo, and now I’m in Jakarta. It’s like a return visit,” he explained with a smile, “Because I missed him.”
