Jon Gosselin addresses estrangement from six of his eight children

Jon Gosselin, the father of the famed “Jon & Kate Plus 8” reality TV family, revealed on the “Legally Goff” podcast earlier this week that he has been estranged from six of his eight children for over a decade, admitting he wouldn’t even recognize his twin daughters.

Estrangement and Lack of Contact

Gosselin, who split from his wife Kate in 2009, shares eight children with her: 26-year-old twins Mady and Cara, and the 22-year-old sextuplets: Collin, Hannah, Aaden, Alexis, Joel and Leah. He stated, I haven’t seen Mady and Cara in like forever. He explained that he last saw the twins when they were around 13 and has missed significant events like their graduations and proms because he was alienated from all that stuff. Gosselin expressed his profound lack of knowledge about his twins, saying, I don’t know anything about my twins, if they have boyfriends or girlfriends, or what favorite color they have now ― if they drive a car. I know nothing.

Allegations Against TLC and Ex-Wife

Attributing the estrangement in part to the network that aired his family’s show, Gosselin claimed that TLC crafted a narrative portraying him negatively. He stated, They, I guess, believe the narrative of TLC that I’m a shitbag and that I don’t want to see them. He alleged that his ex-wife, Kate, reinforced this narrative with their children, specifically saying, I believe that’s exactly what she said to Mady and Cara and that’s their mother and they believed her and that was it.

Jon Gosselin Maintains Contact with Two Children While Collin Alleges Abuse

Jon Gosselin confirmed that he does maintain a relationship with two of his children, Collin and Hannah. He last saw the other four sextuplets—Joel, Aaden, Alexis, and Leah—in 2018. In contrast, Collin Gosselin has no relationship with his mother and has alleged physical and emotional abuse at her hands. Collin claimed Kate had a room built in our unfinished section of the storage basement with cameras, a tiny window, and a bolt-locked door, and that she zip-tied my hands and feet together and bolt-locked the door, turned the lights off. Kate Gosselin has addressed these allegations on social media, writing, I know who I am and my kids know who I truly am and to me, that’s all that matters.
