American actor Jon Stewart returns to presenting the political satirical program “The Daily Show” following he stopped doing so in 2015. It is expected that the program will be shown once a week during this year, which will witness presidential elections in the United States.
Stewart confirmed this news in a post on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), while the program’s official page on the same platform published a picture of him sitting on the filming site with his feet on the desk.
Stewart began presenting the “Daily Show” program on Comedy Central in 1999, and created a distinguished position for himself in the American audio-visual field, as he emerged as an influential figure in politics, journalism, and entertainment.
He stopped presenting the program in 2015 and was succeeded by comedian Trevor Noah.
A large number of those who worked with him went on to present their own competing programs for the Daily Show, such as Stephen Colbert with his program “Late Show” and John Oliver on “Last Week Tonight.”
At the end of October, Stewart’s program on the Apple TV platform was suddenly stopped following airing for two seasons, due to writing disputes between the comedian and the technology company.
Stewart will present one episode per week of the “Daily Show” program, which may be scheduled for Monday, according to what the specialized website “Deadline” reported.
