A page of Swiss hockey history was written on Saturday evening in Newark! For the first time, three Swiss players have obtained the three stars in the same NHL game.

Jonas Siegenthaler, with his goal and two assists, Akira Schmid, with his 23 saves for the first shutout of his career, and captain Nico Hischier with his goal and his assist, were the main architects of the 7-0 success of New Jersey against Philadelphia. Author of 3-0, Dawson Mercer also symbolizes the current success of the Devils with a sixth game in a row which sees him register at least one goal.

The Swiss trio chose the night the Devils celebrated the 2003 Stanley Cup winners to shine brightly. Jonas Siegenthaler signed his second NHL three-pointer. As for Akira Schmid, who was recalled to make up for the absence of No. 2 Mackenzie Blackwood, he picked up his first victory since December 3rd. Finally Nico Hischier still shows the same efficiency to now score 55 points with his 25 goals and 30 assists.

Denis Malgin has also found the nets with Colorado. In Denver, the Solothurns sealed the score in the Avalanche’s 4-1 success against Calgary. He scored his third goal with the defending champion who celebrated a fifth straight win on Saturday.

Finally in San Jose, Philipp Kurashev gave the victory 4-3 in the shootout in Chicago. Already author of an assist Thursday evening against Dallas, the Bernese was the only scorer of the penalty session for a fifth success in a row for the Blackhawks.
