It seems that Jose Mourinho, the coach of Italian club Roma, has won one of his wars against referees in Italian football recently.

Mourinho launched a violent attack on more than one referee during the 2022-23 season, and perhaps the most prominent shot was in the European League final against Seville, Spain, when he attacked English referee Anthony Taylor in the parking garage of the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Mourinho suffered more sending offs than his players last season, perhaps the most famous sending off during his team’s loss to Cremonese.

Mourinho entered into an argument with the fourth referee, Marco Serra, after the latter asked him to take care of his own affairs when he asked him for an explanation for one of the decisions taken by the referee.

Mourinho was so upset by the incident that he claimed he would launch legal action against Marco Serra, who called the referee that day to send off the Roma coach.

According to Sky Italia, Serra’s name was not included in the list of referees in the Italian league for next season, after he was dismissed for “justified technical reasons.”
