Jotvingiai prizes will be awarded in Druskininkai Culture

This year, the Jotvingia Prize will be awarded to Jurgita Jasponyta, and the Young Jotving Prize to Simon Bernot.

J. Jasponytė was awarded for the warmth of poetry, creative vision, mature, surprising and capacious poems in the book of poetry “The universe sits in the wrong place”, S. Bernotas – for a thoughtful look at reality reflected in its own way, the reflective and creative process ending with a poem, for rich poetic text in the book “Fairytale Park”.

The Jotvingiai Prize is awarded annually for the best book of poetry published in the last two years, counting from one Poetic Druskininkai Autumn Festival to the next. two years.

The Jotvingiai Prize was established in 1985 by the poet Sigitas Geda. In that year, the prize was awarded to the poet Korneliis Platelis for the poem “Prayer of the Jotvingians galloping towards the enemy”. When the Druskininkai Poetic Autumns began in 1990, S. Geda agreed to associate his prize with the festival.

This year, the 40th Jotvingia Award and the 27th Young Jotving Award will be presented.
