Casablanca – Moroccan journalist Abdellatif Mansour died on Friday in Casablanca at the age of 73, following an illness, we learned from his family.

Born in 1949, Abdellatif Mansour was known for his activism. In particular, he was active in the National Union of Moroccan Students (UNEM) as soon as he entered the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the Mohammed V University of Rabat in 1967.

By becoming a secondary school teacher in Casablanca, he joined the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT) and was then one of the members of the editorial team of the Avant-garde, organ of the central trade union.

A teacher by training, the deceased contributed to the promotion of trade union culture through his many trips and to the establishment of African trade unionism, the founder of which is none other than Mahjoub Benseddik, head of the UMT. Thus began the journalistic career of Abdellatif Mansour who eventually found in the Maroc-Hebdo International team, which he joined in 1992, a space where he reconciled his passion for writing and his desire to participate in changing society.
