‘Journalists must be given conditions to be able to exercise freedom of the press’

Memoirs of a Donkey“, this is the title of the book by Jean-Claude Defossé. “Incorrigible troublemaker”, this is how he defines himself in this book. At 82, the journalist shares his memories with us. There are many anecdotes, including: that he survived a bombardment during the Second World War, that he was an extra at La Monnaie for Maurice Béjart, that he fought once morest the flamingos in 1962 during the Brussels march, etc. All this before taking the RTBF competition in 1972 where he finished 25th out of 1000, a little behind his brother Josy Dubié – another RTBF journalist – who was 5th. their names in television history.

Recall that Jean-Claude Defossé presented the programs “Questions à la Une”, “Les pieds dans le plat”, but he is best known for “Le journal des travaux unnecessaryes”, of which here is a sequence produced in 1986.
