Julien Uyttendaele announced that he intended to leave the PS. He gave an interview on LN24 morning in which he expressed his disagreement with the party’s policies.
He believes that the PS demonstrates communitarianism, which was reinforced with the war between Israel and Hamas: “This kind of event is fertilizer for hate speech. Jews are afraid in Belgium, in Brussels. What did we do to get here? Have we forgotten history? And when I see the actions, messages and political declarations of the PS and Vooruit, we are no longer surprised by the reaction of certain citizens.”

According to him, the PS is completely divided between Wallonia and Brussels. “Today there are two socialist parties,” he explains. “One in Wallonia and the other in Brussels. We see it in a series of decisions and in several debates. For example that of ritual slaughter, we clearly have two different reasonings, one serious with scientific proof and the other in the opposite direction. We are trying to hold this big ship together with a little coherence but it is becoming extremely complicated.”
