Juma: Queiroz hears everyone’s opinions

Wael Gomaa, the former coach of the Egyptian national team, confirmed that the Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, the former coach of the Pharaohs, loves to listen to all points of view.

Gomaa said in a televised statement to the “Fi Minute” program: “What is being reported that Carlos Queiroz does not hear the opinions of the auxiliary apparatus is unfounded. He is a good listener to all points of view, and of course he is the captain of the ship and he is the final decision-maker.”

He added, “More than once, Carlos Queiroz asked the assistant staff about matters inside and outside the stadium, and as I said, he is a good listener to all points of view.”

When asked about the special treatment that Mohamed Salah receives in the national team, he said: “This does not happen. Salah surprised me. He is the most committed player on appointments, in training and in matches. He always gives support and instructions to players on the field when they need it.”

He continued, “Mohamed Salah is the best player in the history of Egyptian football, and unfortunately I played with him at the end of my playing career, and I hoped that he would be with us at the beginning.”

And about Mohamed Elneny’s refusal to take the penalty kick against Cote d’Ivoire, he said: “This is normal. There are personal characteristics that qualify for a situation like this. Ibrahim Saeed, despite all his great capabilities, left the field in the 2006 Nations Cup final to avoid participating in the penalty shootout.”
