Wotschke: “In a Europe where populism is rampant, we need young people who stand up for liberal values.”
Vienna (OTS) – The Junge NEOS congratulate Ines Holzegger on her election as President of the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC), the European Liberal Youth. LYMEC is an association of liberal youth organizations in Europe and at the same time the official youth organization of the ALDE.
“Ines Holzegger is a strong liberal woman at the head of this important European organization that has been committed to promoting liberal values and ideas in Europe for years. In a Europe in which populism is spreading, we need young people who are passionate about liberal values and who stand up for a generation-fair and more capable Europe,” says Sophie Wotschke.
“2024 will be an important year for us in Europe. We as youth must stand up, vote and secure a seat at the table. It’s about nothing less than our future. We will not let populists and extremists stop us through misinformation and will fight against the undermining of our democracies across Europe and work for better representation of the young generation in decision-making bodies,” said the newly elected LYMEC President Holzegger.
