Naypyidaw – In Myanmar, the military junta apparently pardoned 3,113 prisoners on Monday to mark the traditional New Year celebrations. This came from a statement published by the military government on channels of the short message service Telegram. 98 foreigners are said to be among those pardoned. The Archyde.com news agency could not independently verify the information. A spokesman for the junta has not yet responded to a request for comment.
