Jura: He immobilizes a burglar with an armbar

After a burglary committed in his family villa, a Jura farmer caught up with a criminal and handed him over to the police! This scenario reported by “Le Quotidien Jurassien” took place in Bémont, near Saignelégier, on New Year’s Eve.

After dark, the eldest son of a peasant couple went to their supposedly unoccupied villa, his parents being busy in the stable foraging cattle. The young man surprised two burglars searching the home and emptying a wallet.

Surprised, the thugs fled through the terrace. Alerted by his son, the owner jumped on his motorcycle parked on the farm, 150 meters from the villa. In front of the school, the horse and cattle rancher spotted a suspect. A chase ensued on foot.

Strong, the peasant controlled the fugitive, brought home thanks to an armbar, while waiting for the police. “At the time, I wasn’t even scared,” the breeder told “Quotidien Jurassien”. The money was recovered, as well as a smartphone and the burglars’ car, but not the jewelry and bracelets belonging to the children, taken by the second burglar. The arrested defendant has Romanian identity documents.
