With the unanimous support of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, the name of the murdered young woman Agustina Fernández was named to the buffet at the Toschi Street headquarters of the academic unit. A banner was also placed at the entrance to the university facilities, calling for justice for the crime.
In the buffet, better known as “the little bar,” a plaque commemorating the victim had already been placed one year after his death. Agustina was a student at the faculty and there is a conviction to keep her memory alive in the current and future generations of students and in the educational community as a whole.
The name initiative came from the Student Center, led by the Aluvión Estudiantentil group, and was taken to the Board of Directors, where it received the support of all its members.

The president of the Center, Santiago Moreno, stated this Thursday that the buffet is one of the places most visited every day by students, who not only use it as a place to eat but also meet there to study and talk about the academic matters and university life.
He expressed that by designating the space with Agustina’s name, the intention was to maintain her memory constantly and for the history of the faculty to preserve her memory forever. All the cloisters accompany the feeling and emotion for whoever was a student of the medical career.
In this framework, Moreno highlighted the need to fight against femicides and gender violence, and specified that the Student Center participates in the different mobilizations and demands that are made in the city for this cause.
The young woman’s crime occurred on July 2, 2022, in the apartment complex located on 1301 Confluencia Street, in the Las Calandrias neighborhood. The brutal murder shocked the city and the region. Today, the case is about to be addressed in a jury trial and the person accused of the incident is Pablo Parra, who was a friend of the victim.
