K Sudhakaran had personally invited Shashi Tharoor to the Vaikom Satyagraha centenary celebrations and requested him to preach, but the organizers of the event denied him a seat in the front row as well. Finally, DCC president stood up for Tharoor, but Tharoor left the stage as the people left after Speaker KC Venugopal had spoken.
While Ramesh Chennithala was given a chance to speak on the grounds that he was a former KPCC president, K Muralidharan was left out despite being on the same list.
