Kagoshima University Graduation: Local Beef Steaks and New Careers

Some universities in Kagoshima Prefecture held graduation ceremonies on the 25th. At Kanoya University of Physical Education, local beef steaks were served to graduates dressed in their best clothes.

At Kagoshima University, 1,823 undergraduate graduates and 549 graduate students, a total of 2,372 people, have started new careers. This year, for the first time in five years, parents also participated, and the event was held in a pre-coronavirus style.

At the ceremony, President Teru Sano encouraged the graduates, saying, “Please soar toward the future with confidence and pride.”

As of the end of February, Kagoshima University’s employment offer rate is 94% for undergraduate students and 97% for graduate students.

At Kanoya University of Physical Education in Kanoya City, 185 students graduated this year, and 26 completed graduate school.

At the social gathering after the ceremony, a local black beef steak was served by the executive committee formed by the local chamber of commerce and other organizations. The annual event, which was canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus, has been revived for the first time in five years.
