JÖNKÖPING. After about ten minutes, a fight broke out inside the HV71 booth.
Lukas Jasek was hauled in by Isak Brännström and the Oskarshamn forward was hit several times by André Petersson.
– We barely touch them and we go out, says Oskarshamn forward Viktor Lodin about the refereeing level after the match.
HV71 won the messy must-match with 4–0 and equalized at 1–1 in the best of seven matches in the qualifier.
Henrik Borgström came directly from the penalty box and spliced the puck into the cross for the first goal.
Oskar Stål Lyrenäs got the second goal, which was more of an own goal when Niclas Burström steered the puck between the legs of Marek Langhamer.
André Petersson was the big dominant of the match and lifted the third goal into the roof of the net, Victor Sjöholm determined the final result in an empty goal cage.
23-year-old Fredrerik Dichow got the chance to score instead of experienced Joni Ortio and kept a clean sheet.
“More over the line”
The qualifying match series continues to be turned up with fierce emotions.
A hysterical home crowd helped whip up a crazy atmosphere.
It’s grumpy after blowouts and steals from both teams.
– I don’t know how many cross-checkings, slashings and stuff we go on today. I think they play a lot more over the line than we do in the game and they had an effect on that today. We have to be cooler in our heads, says Viktor Lodin.
“All against one”
After the first half of the period in the second match, a real uproar erupted.
Suddenly, Lukas Jasek was inside the opponent’s booth and was badly beaten.
– What is going on? My God, they shoved him in. No Oskarshamn player dared to go in and save him either. You rarely see that, all against one, says TV4 expert Almen Bibic.
Brännström was found guilty
The incident was far from the puck and when the HV71 players Isac Brännström was to change, he took Lukas Jasek with him.
Inside the booth, André Petersson helped and during the chaos, several players lashed out at the intruder.
The main referees Tobias Björk and Linus Öhlund awarded two minutes for interference plus two minutes for roughing Isac Brännström and two minutes for roughing Lukas Jasek.
“Some hot spurs in the team”
At the end of the second period, Oskarshamn had five players in the penalty box and HV71 two players.
– We lost our sharpness and focus, we took on a lot. We have to keep our cool. You have to take a deep breath when you get to the booth and try to calm down, to win these mental games every time. There are some hotheads in the team, says Oskarshamn forward Johannes Salomonsson.
Oskarshamn shocked HV71 more to win the first match 4–2 in Jönköping on Friday evening.
Matches three and four will be played in Oskarshamn on Wednesday and Friday of next week, before the match series returns to Jönköping next Sunday.
