Following a violent assault on a 15-year-old boy near a public festival in Kamienna Góra, local police detained two 16-year-olds for questioning. One teenager was released, while a second remains in custody as investigators weigh whether he will face charges as an adult in family court.
The latest incident unfolded on Friday evening near Księcia Bolka I Street, directly adjacent to a municipal music and entertainment festival that was drawing crowds over the weekend.
According to reports from the scene, a 15-year-old resident was struck with a dangerous instrument by a peer. Witnesses rushed to administer first aid before emergency responders arrived. Because of the severity of his trauma, the victim was first taken to a local medical facility and subsequently airlifted by an Air Rescue helicopter to a hospital in Wrocław.
Police Intervene Near Festival Grounds as Local Authorities Resture Order
The attack disrupted the festive atmosphere in the town. Law enforcement officers and private security guards secured the perimeter, allowing the local festival near the reservoir to continue under heavy guard.

Junior Aspirant Katarzyna Trzepak of the Kamienna Góra Police Department told reporters that officers worked late into Friday evening to track down individuals suspected of involvement. Authorities established that the teenagers knew each other prior to the altercation, though officials declined to specify the nature of their relationship or disclose the exact motive behind the assault.
Detention Decisions and the Shift in the Investigation
Police initially detained two 16-year-old local residents for questioning. Following initial proceedings, investigators released one of the juveniles to return home, while the second suspect was placed in a juvenile detention shelter.
As the investigation progressed, the focus narrowed onto the second teenager as the primary suspect in the stabbing. Police announced that the gathered evidentiary material would be forwarded directly to the family court. It will be up to the court to decide whether the 16-year-old stands trial as an adult or a minor.
A Troubling Trend of Knife Violence in the Region
The attack on the 15-year-old follows a separate violent incident in the area just days prior. Earlier in the week, a 33-year-old man was wounded in a separate knife attack and hospitalized in life-threatening condition. Local criminal investigators subsequently detained a 30-year-old suspect in connection with that case.
According to Gazeta Wrocławska, via Polsatnews, criminal investigators in Kamienna Góra detained a 30-year-old man suspected of attempted murder in Kamienna Góra, and the man also faced charges of issuing criminal threats and causing injury to a witness of the event.
While law enforcement agencies continue analyzing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses in the wake of the festival violence, medical teams in Wrocław remain locked in a struggle to save the younger victim’s life. Investigators have yet to clarify whether additional arrests will follow or what specific legal measures the family court will apply to the detained minor.
