Thiruvananthapuram: In view of the continuing heavy rains in the state, the district collectors have declared a holiday for educational institutions in various districts tomorrow. Kannur and Ernakulam were the last to announce the holiday. With this, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in nine districts in the state tomorrow. Holidays have been announced for educational institutions in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad and Kannur districts. The decision was taken in the context of the weather department’s warning that heavy rains will continue in these districts tomorrow.

Notification of Alappuzha Collector
August 5 will be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges and Anganwadis in Alappuzha district.
Notification of the Collector of Pathanamthitta
August 5th (5/08/22) will be a holiday for all educational institutions from Anganwadi to Professional Colleges in Pathanamthitta district in view of severe rain warning and heavy rainfall. However, the Collector has also clarified that there will be no change in the university examinations as per earlier schedule.
Kottayam Collector’s Notice
Friday (5th August 2022) will be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges and Anganwadis in Kottayam district.
Notification of Idukki Collector
Educational institutions including professional colleges in Idukki district will also be closed on Friday (5/08/22). Pre-scheduled tests and interviews will remain unchanged. But the Collector has also suggested that the heads of the educational institutions should take steps to adjust the study time lost by the students due to the vacation.
Notification of Ernakulam Collector
Tomorrow (05/08/22) will be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges in Ernakulam district.
Notification of Thrissur Collector
In case of continued rains, educational institutions from nursery level to professional colleges including Anganwadis in the district will be closed on August 5. The Collector has also clarified that there will be no change in the exams.
Notification of Palakkad Collector
August 5 will be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges and Anganwadis in Palakkad district. The collector has also clarified that the holiday will not apply to the activities of model residential schools in the district and the pre-scheduled examinations scheduled for tomorrow.
Notification of Wayanad Collector
District Collector will be off tomorrow (Friday) for all educational institutions including professional colleges in Wayanad district. The collector has also clarified that the holiday is not applicable to residential schools.
Notification of Kannur Collector
All educational institutions including professional colleges in Kannur district will be closed. The Collector has also clarified that the holiday will not apply to pre-scheduled university examinations.
