Many people who were undergoing treatment in the accident between a bus and a lorry at Kannur Thottada were discharged. 9 out of 19 admitted to Mims Hospital and 6 out of 11 admitted to Baby Memorial Hospital were discharged. The condition of an injured woman is critical. They underwent emergency surgery.
Kallada bus was traveling from Manipal to Thiruvalla. Students studying in Manipal and Mangalore were also in the bus. The lorry hit the back of the bus.
The bus passenger died. The bus overturned in the accident. 24 people including the drivers of both vehicles were injured. 8 people are in critical condition. The lorry was carrying fish towards Kannur. According to eyewitnesses, the bus overturned three times in the accident.
