Long gone, Kate Middleton now brings bad news. The mother of three announced that she had cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.
Kate Middleton shared the news via a video upload on Instagram The Prince and Princess of Wales. In the video, Kate reveals the reason why she has disappeared from the public for the last few months.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you personally, for all the incredible messages of support and for your understanding while I was recovering from surgery,” said Kate Middleton in the video, quoted from People.
Previously, Kensington Palace stated that Kate Middleton underwent stomach surgery in January 2024. The recovery period was quite difficult for Kate Middleton. The reason is, he was only discovered to have cancer after undergoing surgery.
“It’s been a very difficult few months for our whole family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have looked after me well and I am very grateful for that,” said Kate.
“In January, I underwent major stomach surgery in London and at that time, my condition was not thought to be cancer. The operation was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer,” he explained.
Due to this diagnosis, the medical team advised Prince William’s wife to undergo chemotherapy treatment as a preventive measure. Kate is currently in the early stages of treatment, Mother.
This is of course a big blow for Kate and William. The couple, who will soon celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary, are still trying to process everything that happened.
Kate and William decided to keep this information private from the public for the sake of their children. The reason is, it is not easy to explain to George, Charlotte and Louis about their mother’s condition.
“I need time to recover from major surgery so I can start my treatment. But most importantly, we need time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a good way,” said Kate.
“I told them I was fine and getting stronger every day by trying to focus on the things that would help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit,” he added.
Kate Middleton is also grateful for the presence of her husband who always gives her a sense of comfort and strengthens her. The Princess of Wales asked for public understanding that at this time she needs privacy while undergoing treatment.
Kate Middleton also expressed her support for cancer fighters, “At this time, I am also thinking about everyone whose lives have been impacted by cancer. To everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
