Kate Middleton’s parents after the shocking announcement that their daughter is suffering from cancer, are at the side of the Princess of Wales, Prince William and their grandchildren.
As a palace expert revealed to the Mirror, as Kate Middleton fights a personal battle with cancer, her parents Michael, 74, and Carole, 69, are standing by her side when it comes to her children: 10-year-old George, 8-year-old Charlotte and 5-year-old Louis.
The couple also have three more grandchildren from their second daughter, Pippa.
“They are on her side,” royal commentator and biographer Duncan Larcombe told the Mirror.
“Carol and Michael have essentially thrown a security blanket around the young children to protect them,” he said.
“At times like this for Kate, it’s extremely important. It is vital that someone takes care of children with great care,” he added.
Larcombe also noted that both Michael and Carol also support his son-in-law, Prince William, whom they consider their “adopted son”.
Larcombe even stated that Kate’s parents are “desperate” that their 42-year-old daughter is suffering from cancer.
While both Michael and Carole aren’t one to reveal details about their private lives, the princess’ mother has previously revealed she’s thrilled to be a grandmother.
“I want to run in the hills, climb the trees and play with them in the playground,” he said in 2021.
“As long as I can, that’s what I’ll do. I cook with them while dancing, we go for bike rides…”, he had said.
Since the Prince and Princess of Wales made Windsor their permanent base, the future king’s in-laws have been able to spend more time with their grandchildren.
The couple live in Berkshire, which is just 40 minutes from Windsor. Now, he also has plenty of free time after selling the party supply company, Party Pieces, which was founded by Kate Middleton’s mother in 1987.
