The Salzburg Union athlete represented Austria at the Pordenone Games and won the 800m and 1500m races.

A few weeks following a double silver at the State Championships and a double gold at the Austrian U23 Championships, Katharina Stöger added another double. On Saturday she won the 1500m (4:34:34 min) at the Alpe Adria Games for U23 athletes in Pordenone (ITA). The Salzburg Union athlete won the 800 meters on Sunday in 2 hours, 12 minutes and 17 seconds, ahead of rivals from the northern Italian provinces and Croatia.

Team rankings gave Austria a clear win. The women’s team was able to move ahead of Croatia and Emilia Romagna in the overall rankings, especially thanks to Stoger’s victory. Men dressed in red, white and red were also allowed to cheer. They won ahead of Emilia Romagna and Lombardy. A total of nine teams participated.
