Keeping Dubai Clean During Eid Al-Adha: Dubai Municipality’s Preparations and Efforts

Dubai, June 23 / WAM / Dubai Municipality announced its preparations to maintain public cleanliness during the blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday in the emirate through a number of equipment, service and control procedures, technical work programs and plans, and intensification of supervisory and field efforts on public hygiene and waste management.

The municipality has allocated more than 3,000 supervisors and cleaning workers from its workers and from the private sector, in addition to 747 machinery and vehicles that will be ready to implement routine field programs and support and emergency programs around the clock, with the implementation of inspections on the cleanliness of public health facilities.
Engineer Saeed Safar, Acting Director of Waste Operations Department at Dubai Municipality, said: “Dubai Municipality has put all its field teams on standby to maintain the cleanliness of roads, public facilities, residential areas and beaches, and has prepared the necessary operational plans for all emergency cases that ensure rapid response to communications while securing work requirements from resources.” Human and machinery, within the framework of Dubai Municipality’s keenness to manage waste operations and provide integrated and effective municipal services to all around the clock in order to preserve the city’s cleanliness, sustainability, and its civilized and aesthetic appearance, in a way that guarantees a safe and sound vacation for all residents and visitors of the Emirate of Dubai.
He added that the municipality has provided 2,320 cleaners affiliated with it and 426 workers affiliated with the private sector, supervised by 250 supervisors and monitors, who are equipped with the means and equipment that will cover all parts of the emirate, in addition to distributing 45 additional waste storage means to cover emergency cases and the needs of the most crowded areas. The teams will work in a system of four work shifts during the first Eid Al-Adha days to carry out tasks with maximum speed and efficiency, taking into account the times of banning work in open places between 12:30 and 3:00 in the afternoon, as well as following up the work tasks of private sector companies contracting with the municipality and specialized in cleaning, transporting, sorting and treating waste, transporting neglected vehicles and cleaning public health facilities. .
Dubai Municipality has equipped a specialized team to monitor the cleanliness of Dubai’s beaches and water channels during the Eid holiday. It consists of 97 cleaners, 14 field supervisors with 3 work shifts, and 15 vehicles that will cover 13 km of water channels and more than 19 km of public beaches.
It has also prepared a team of 52 cleaners and 8 supervisors to cover a total of 2,400 km of main roads, with 3 work shifts. The municipality has also completed the cleaning of all 10 Eid chapels in the emirate.
