It should have just been a short break from working in the garden, a brief rest on the cover of a well shaft, but it couldn’t withstand the man’s weight and broke. The pensioner couldn’t hold on and fell around ten meters deep into the well.
First responders immediately rushed to his aid: They called the emergency services and held a ladder into the shaft so that the elderly man could stay above water. Fortunately, the fire brigade and high-altitude rescuers quickly rescued him from the dangerous situation with a winch and handed him over to the emergency doctor.
The man sustained serious injuries in the fall and had to be taken to hospital for further medical treatment.
