Kochi: Four clubs, including Kerala Blasters, are in the field to acquire Hyderabad FC’s goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh. But Blasters are not ready to offer a long-term deal Gurmeet Singh has started moving to another club due to the financial crisis at Hyderabad FC. The AIIF committee will take a decision this week on the application filed by Gurmeet, citing the suspension of wages.

North East United, where Malayalee player Mirshad is the first goalie, and Punjab FC, the newcomers in the league, are preparing for a long-term contract with Gurmeet. Gurmeet was a member of the North East team from 2018 to 2021. It is also reported that Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur FC have offered short contracts till the end of the current season. Blasters are looking for a new goalie after it became clear that injured Malayali goalkeeper Sachin Suresh will miss the rest of the season.

Since the Blasters contract with Sachin has been extended till 2026, Gurmeet’s service is sufficient for this season only. Gurmeet, who was the third goalie in the Indian team in the Intercontinental Cup and SAFF Championship, hails from Nadwana, Haryana. The truth is that Hyderabad goalkeeper Gurmeet does not have a single clean sheet in 13 games of the season.

Debut well done! But why were Sarfaras and Jurrell released from BCCI contracts?

Kerala Blasters are currently placed fourth in the ISL Football 2023-24 season. In the last match, Kerala Blasters won in Kochi by scoring four goals after trailing by two goals against FC Goa. Goa’s double goals were in the first half, while Blasters scored four goals in the second half.
