Kerala Blasters win the Kalinga Super Cup. Blasters defeated ILeague club Shillong Lajong by three goals to one in Group B. Kwame Pepra scored a brace for the Blasters while Mohamed Aiman scored a goal. Renan Paulinho scored the consolation goal for Shillong Lajong.
Blasters came out with all the leading stars. Therefore, Blasters dominated the field. Kwame Pepra gave Blasters the lead in the 15th minute from a through ball by Diamantakos. Pepra doubled their lead in the 26th minute off Prabir Das’s cross. Shillong Lajong pulled a goal back within three minutes. Renan Paulinho’s goal was through the penalty. In the 46th minute, Daisuke Saka’s cross found Aiman Blasters senior team’s first goal. Blasters who continued to fill with positional football made Shillong Lajong drink water. It was at the end of the second half that Shillong Lajong filled up. They tried to claw back one more goal but the Blasters defense did not give up. Pepra is the star of the game.
Blasters’ next match is against Jamshedpur FC on 15th of this month.
