Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Olympic Association has announced the 2021 Media Awards for the best reports and images in print and visual media. Asianet News Senior Sports Editor Joby George was awarded for the best sports report in visual media.
The award was given to the report ‘Thurakanam Lyklakamal’ prepared on the effect of the closure of sports grounds even after the lifting of the Kovid lockdown. The award consists of Rs 50,000 and a plaque. Earlier, the same series also received GV Raja Award, the highest sports award of the state government.

Deepika Senior Reporter Thomas Varghese was adjudged the Best Sports Reporter in Print Media. The award was given to the series Kalpanthukali in search of the coast, which reflects the heyday and current crises of football in the coastal areas of southern Kerala.
The award for the best sports photographer went to PP Aftab of Suprabhatam. The award is for a film related to horse racing. The award selection committee headed by former IG and Indian volleyball star S Gopinath selected the winners.
