Kerala Summer Rains Alert: Meteorological Department Warns of Rain and High Temperatures

Thiruvananthapuram: Central Meteorological Department has warned that the state will receive summer rains in the next five days. The Central Meteorological Department has predicted that 7 districts will receive light rain today. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts will receive light rain today and tomorrow. Except Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, all other districts will receive rain on 7th and 8th. The Meteorological Department also predicts that there will be rain all over Kerala on the 9th.

Meanwhile, a high temperature warning has also been issued in the state. A yellow alert has been announced in the state. The maximum temperature is likely to rise to 40 degrees in Kollam and Palakkad districts from today to 9. According to the Central Meteorological Department, the high temperature may rise up to 38 degrees in Thrissur district, 37 degrees in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Kozhikode Kannur districts, and 36 degrees in Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kasaragod districts. Due to high temperature and humid air, there is a possibility of hot and humid weather in these districts, except in the hilly areas.
