Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that a multi-model action plan has been prepared to deal with the increase in Kovid cases in the state. The plan is designed to increase hospital infrastructure, monitoring, testing and oxygen storage in terms of hospital admissions, ICU admissions and number of patients.

As the number of Kovid patients increases, it will be implemented in three phases. The main goal is to equip hospitals to move on to the next stage with each indication. This will ensure treatment for all. At the same time, the minister said that 30,895 people in the state had been given the reserve Doscovid vaccine on the first day. The reserve dose was given to 19,549 health workers, 2,635 Kovid Front fighters and 8711 people over 60 years of age.

Thiruvananthapuram district had the highest number of reserve doses – 6,455. The other districts are Kollam 3,184, Pathanamthitta 1,731, Alappuzha 1,742, Kottayam 1,701, Idukki 719, Ernakulam 2,855, Thrissur 5,327, Palakkad 922, Malappuram 841, Kozhikode 2,184, Wayanad 896, Kannur 1,461 and Kasaragod 877. More than one-third of children (35 percent) between the ages of 15 and 18 were vaccinated. A total of 5,36,582 children were vaccinated. On Monday, a total of 2,10,835 people were vaccinated in all categories.
