Sajan Prakash, Kerala’s champion in the swimming pool, started at the Goa National Games
The record is golden. Sajan Prakash set a Games record by finishing in 53.79 seconds in the men’s 100m butterfly at the swimming pool in Kampol. Sajan won the gold by beating Tamil Nadu’s B. Rohit (55.00 seconds), who jumped with a record in the heats, to the third place in the final. Maharashtra’s Ambre Mihir finished second in 54.32 seconds. Sajan also won silver for Kerala in the men’s 200m freestyle yesterday by finishing in 1 minute 51.10 seconds.
Yesterday morning MS Athira won silver in Pencak Svilat-Dandha fighting and MT Anmaria won silver in women’s weightlifting 87 kg. Meanwhile, the first day of athletics was a disappointment for Kerala. Kerala has so far won 3 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze medals in the Games.
