Kevin Magnussen remains in Haas F1 Team in 2023[F1-Gate .com]

Guenther Steiner, head of the Haas F1 Team, has stated that the contract with Kevin Magnussen is a multi-year contract and will remain on the team in 2023.

29-year-old Kevin Magnussen was fired from the Haas F1 Team with Romain Grosjean after the 2020 season, giving way to the arrival of Nikita Mazepin, the same rookie teammate as Mick Schumacher.

But then, when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine banished him at Nikita Mazepin, the Haas F1 Team chose to sign Kevin Magnussen again.

Mick Schumacher’s 2023 seat isn’t safe yet, but experienced teammate Kevin Magnussen doesn’t have the same uncertainty.

“Mick is very lucky to have a teammate like Kevin. He’s in a much better place than last year,” Haas F1 Team representative Guenther Steiner told Red Bulletin.

“There’s nothing negative about having Kevin here, except that Kevin is here,” laughed Guenther Steiner.

In fact, Mick Schumacher flew off Guenther Steiner’s criticism and sparked speculation about 2023. Early 2022 struggled to catch up with experienced teammates, including a series of high-profile crashes.

The Haas F1 Team is not yet ready to sign a new deal with Ferrari junior driver Mick Schumacher, but does not want to give details about the negotiations “in respect of Ferrari.”

Guenther Steiner said he was considering a lineup of drivers during the summer vacation, “waiting for two weeks before making a decision.”

But Kevin Magnussen has better news.

“Yes. Kevin has a multi-year contract.”

“We are making progress and have shown what we can do. To be logically at the top, we need the best possible driver to score points.”

F11 will be held in France this weekend, but insiders aren’t expecting Paul Ricard to appear on next year’s calendar.

“We want to keep all the races going, but that can’t happen,” Guenther Steiner told the German broadcaster ntv.

This week, FIA officials are reported to be in Carami to approve the former Grand Prix circuit for a new event in South Africa.

“We need to make sure things are going on commercially and bring sports to a country that hasn’t been around for a long time,” Guenther Steiner said.
