New Delhi: India’s main industrial sector registered a growth of 7.8 percent in January. This is the best growth in the last four months. The growth was 4 percent in January and 7 percent in December last year.
The major industrial sectors are coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilizer, steel, cement and electricity. Excluding crude oil, sectors posted positive growth in January. Chief industries account for 40.27 percent of India’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP).
